ABOUT MARC TASLIT

MARC TASLIT has been a performer and educator in the arts for more than forty-five years. He studied and taught at two professional acting studios in Los Angeles, has acted on stage and film in the U.S. and Europe and has directed several operas and legitimate stage productions.

Dr. Taslit earned degrees in piano performance from The Cleveland Institute of Music and Indiana University, where he also served as Director of the Accompanying Program and taught Piano Accompanying. He has been chairperson of the piano departments of three colleges.

Marc Taslit has performed extensively as recitalist, soloist with orchestra, chamber music pianist and vocal and instrumental accompanist in Europe, the Far East, the Middle East, Canada and throughout the U.S.A.

Since 1991, Dr. Taslit has brought the ACTING OPERASM training to more than 7,000 singer-actors in 25 cities in the U.S. and in London, England. He has published articles on acting, music and related topics. His books on acting will be published in 2015.

Dr. Taslit has been called "Maestro!" by Placido Domingo and "an exhilarating pianist!" by The New York Times.

Some of the internationally recognized artists with whom Marc Taslit has collaborated are singer-actors Marta Senn, Lynda Kemeny, Patricia Johnson, Eleanor Steber, Rosa Vento, Tovah Feldschuh, John Brandstetter, Clayton Brainerd, Thomas Goleeke, Chester Ludgin, Monique McDonald, Eleni Matos, Mark McVey and Jan Peerce. Instrumentalists include Lynn Harrell, Mischa Maisky, Sandor Vegh, Michel Debost, Robert Marcellus, Peter Zazofsky, David Szepessy, Fritz Magg, Gottfried Hoogeveen, Jon Toth, John Borg, Sigurd Rascher and Sol Schoenbach.

In recognition of his career accomplishments, Marc Taslit was awarded the degree Doctor of Philosophy in Performing and Creative Arts (Honoris causa) by Cosmopolitan University.
